If your natural element is fire (see “your element” page) then this may come easier to you. Even if these techniques are not full blown firebending, they are still nessesary to learn firebending. first thing’s first….fire meditation
fire meditation- for fire imagine yourself next to a big fire or volcano. think of the fire as your veins imagine your body as a black figure and only your glowing veins are showing. think with every breath you take think of your veins getting hotter and hotter and brighter and brighter and bigger. open your eyes and begin your training as a fire bender.
hot hands- first, make it look like you are holding a softball with two hands. now imagine your body a pitch black color. now imagine your veins glowing with an orange/red substance. they are gradualy getting hotter, and hotter. brighter and brighter. until they are steaming. now imagine your body returning to its normal color, and your veins stop glowing, but are still orange/red and are still very hot.
the orange/red light (chi) slowly comes out of the veins of your arms and into the palms of your hands. the chi is hot as it goes through your veins, to your palms.
your hands should get hot!
ps:sometimes you can burn yourself, but its not serious. just stings a little

now the chi ball part
now imagine the color in your veins coming out into the palm of your hand, and imagine the orange/red light coming out of your palms and meeting in the middle of your two hands, the orange/red substance (chi) is very hot as it leaves your palms. the light forms a ball in the center of your two hands, and continues to get hotter and hotter.
first, make a basic chi ball.
now, keep adding energy to it, but dont let it get bigger, just denser and hotter.
then, when you feel you cant put anymore chi into it, move all the chi in your body into the chi ball even though you feel you cant put anymore chi in.
now that the ball is pressurized to the max, thrust your hands out in a double-palm strike, and with your mind and will power, make the chi ball explode foward with all its force.
this can cause the opponent to lose concentration and stamina. note that you cant see this blast, and it works great against another bender because it makes them lose their concentration. but if you can do this really good. make sure you keep it at a beginner level, as it can really hurt somebody if used by a master.
mana ball-the difference between this and a chi ball, is that mana ball uses energy from one of the four elements, outside the body. where chi uses the energy from the mind and body.
first, put your palm up, with your arm bent. it can be either head, or chest lvl.
use your chi meditation to sense the energy around you
now breath in this energy(mana) into a ball about three inches off your palm. breath out and stop drawing energy
repeat this for about a minute for beginners, and you will have a decent charged mana ball.
fire mana ball- same thing as a mana ball, but takes energy from a specific element…..fire
first, make sure you are somewhere that has a view of the sun. although you CAN do this where there is no sun, but you have to visualize it.
now, make a mana ball, but instead of drawing in random energy, draw energy directly from the sun,
visualize every time you breath in, orange/red, hot energy comes from the sun and into a ball in your hands
now you should have a ball of fire energy.
ps: this is difficult to do at night because you have to visualize the sun. you cant see it.
controlling fire– now just like in making a chi ball, instead of making aball, point the palms of your hands toward a candle flame, as close as you can get without burning yourself. imagine the chi coming out of your hands in strands connected to the five soles of your palms. visualize the strands of orange/red chi wrapping around the flame snuggly. now move your hands, side to side, up and down. keep your eyes closed for beginners. and just feel yourpalms being tugged as your pull the flame with your chi. now once you get the feel of it, try it with your eyes open. the flame should move with your hands. Even though your eyes are open, keep visualizing the steps above. keep practicing it and you will master it in no time!
ATTENTION: TO MAKE THESE WORK EASIER FOR YOU, YOU MAY HAVE TO ALTER THE VISUALIZATIONS TO SUIT YOU, WHAT I MEAN BY THIS IS THAT WHEN VISUALIZING SOMETHING, IF YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH VISUALIZING CHI AS A LIQUID, THEN VISUALIZE IT LIKE A LIQUID. ECT.
